MADE FROM THE RESEARCH
Made.
What the research has produced so far. Most of the work here is still material testing, and ceramics is the one output that is fully developed. This is where the finished things live: what we have made, and what we want to make next.
CERAMICS
Park Royal clay cup
A cup thrown from clay dug on a London construction site, glazed with local wood ash. One shape so far.
One shape, made in small numbers, while the body and glaze are still being refined. It is cheap on purpose. The point is to prove the loop runs all the way to something you can drink from, not to sell a mug.
This cup is the Ceramic Loop, made. See the project it comes from and the clay firing findings behind it.
GBP 15. What you pay helps fund the next test.
Available in the shop See the cup and buy one in the shop.
INTENT, NOT A CATALOGUE
There are designs for more pieces, and the intention is to grow into a small ceramic line and, in time, into commissioned, designed objects made with the people and places a material comes from. That work is early. Everything here is described as intention, not a product you can buy today.
COMMISSIONED OBJECTS
An object made for the building, from the building.
When a site is excavated, the material that comes out is usually trucked away. The intention is to take a small, documented quantity of it, research what it could become, and develop a designed piece from it that goes back into the finished building. Today that means ceramics, and we are early and honest about it. This is one of the ways to work with us.
OPEN AND ONGOING
Every object here is a research output. The recipes and results behind it are published in the open.
